A musician who has tickled the ivories since the age of five, Teng effortlessly conjures up a delightful combination of pop, hip hop, bluegrass, and avant-garde chamber music. She writes about everything from the environment to immigrant issues, plays the piano and tops it all off with a voice NPR describes as a "breathy and powerful alto that brings to mind Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos." Teng has appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman," "NPR’s Weekend Edition," "CBS Morning News," and toured with Indie.Arie, Shawn Colvin, Duncan Sheik and the Indigo Girls. The 31 year-old Teng has a knack for melodic songwriting and intelligent lyrics. Their music has an element of what Paste magazine calls "Lilith Fair balladry" as well as a good mix of tunes that balance melancholy and feisty rhythmic romps. Together, Teng and Wong nimbly traverse musical genres, from folk to pop to classical to jazz to country and beyond. Seven years later, the duo joined forces recording Teng’s fourth album ("Inland Territory") and recently, they hit the road, touring as a team.
